Two ear scales are holding the head straight./ The head is keeping its two ‘weights’ in a balance. The view of this picture is strongly defined by the middle vertical axis between the right and left side of the head; the same polarisation expands to the rest of the image. This image operates in its confrontation in space with other objects as a kind of measure reference. The figure evokes that of a classical Justitia, but here demonumentalised, the weight of the decision hanging like a small reminder on her ears.
