Eleni Mouzourou is a visual artist, art educator and art therapist, born in Nicosia and based in Berlin. She studied Visual Arts at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon and the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg, and holds an MA in Art Therapy from Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee (2019). In the same year, she co-founded ANDPRESS, a collective dedicated to the production and dissemination of artists’ books and paper-based works.

My artistic practice moves through natural and sociopolitical landscapes, tracing perspectives overlooked in dominant narratives. Working across video, lecture-performance and drawing, often through collaborative processes, I investigate the entanglements between personal, environmental and political histories, and how they shape identity, attachment to place and experiences of (un)belonging. I ask how difference can be inhabited without being erased.

Growing up in postcolonial Cyprus, where multiple borders and histories of division shape everyday life, has profoundly informed my practice. The island’s geography and contested landscapes remain a recurring point of departure. Sustained engagement, close observation and repeated return to particular places and communities shape my research.

My projects unfold as small-scale investigations of microlocalities: the plants of a public park, an incident in no-man’s land, a polluted city bay. Through these situated encounters, I explore how ecological relationships can open other ways of imagining coexistence beyond inherited conflict and fixed notions of national identity and belonging. Plants, pigeons and the sea recur throughout my work as more-than-human witnesses and participants in stories of migration, displacement and environmental transformation.
